Male student lynched to death after sneaking into girls’ school in Kiambu

A 17-year-old student at Gathiruini Boys secondary school lost his life after he was lynched by girls from Komothai High School for illegally entering their dormitory in Githunguri, Kiambu County.
According to Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the form four student alongside five of his schoolmates had, on Wednesday night sneaked out of their school and crept into the girls’ dormitory at around 4am.
“They had under the cover of darkness crept into Phoeb House for an unknown mission, before they were spotted by some girls who immediately raised an alarm, attracting the whole school. The school’s guards, teachers and students all rushed towards the dormitory to find out what was happening,” stated DCI.
Five of the boys managed to escape, but the 17-year-old, was cornered and beaten up by the group.
The victim sustained physical injuries on the head, and forehead. He rushed to Kigumo level 4 hospital while unconscious and died while receiving treatment.
Crime scene detectives later visited the scene and recovered planks of wood suspected to have been used to assault the suspect.
“We wish to caution members of the public to desist from taking the law into their own hands and accord suspects the opportunity to face justice in a court of law,” DCI cautioned.
