Another minister serving in Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru’s government has tendered her resignation.
Gender and Youth Executive Lynette Wanjiru quit her job nine days after the governor accused her of inefficiency and threatened to take disciplinary action against her.
Ms Wanjiru, a close ally of the governor, confirmed that she handed her resignation letter to Ms on Tuesday after a short stint in the county government.
“It is true I have left after serving in the government for several months,” she said, but declined to comment on the accusations levelled against her by the governor.
POOR PERFORMANCE
In a letter dated December 9, the governor raised concerns on the overall performance of the Department of Gender and Youth and ordered Ms Wanjiru to show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against her.
