A statement from the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission stated that it is investigating allegations of bribery against Maseno Traffic Police officers while on duty along the busy Kisumu- Busia highway.
“In order to facilitate our investigations,we require Maseno Traffic Police Staff Officer Traffic (SOT) to report to EACC Kisumu office- 1st floor of Central Square Building on Wednesday 21st October, 202 at 9.00am for interview and statement recording.” stated the statement.
The Police Staff Officer Traffic of Maseno traffic police will be required to provide the commission with documents and information that includes;
- certified copies of Maseno SOT Daily Deployment Register indicating deployment of Maseno Traffic Police Officers for the period between 6th September 2020 to 11th October 2020.
- Certified copies of Nominal Roll of Maseno Police Station Officers for the period between 6th September 2020 to 11th October 2020.
- Certified copies of entries made in the station’s Occurence Book under OB NO.25/08/2020 and OB NO.27/08/10/2020.
- Certified copies of the station’s Fire Movement Register for the period between 6th September 2020 to 11th October 2020.
On the same day and time, the SOT is to accompany the following Maseno traffic police officers to EACC Kisumu office for their statements recording:

- PC Mike Cheruiyot
- PC James Mutuma

“Our investigator Eric Mabeta and Nicodemus Mulinge will be available to receive the officer and record his statement.” it concludes.
