How to pay school fees using Mpesa paybill through Co-op Bank

Parents can now pay school fees conveniently into the school’s account through MCo-opCash, M-Pesa or a Co-op Kwa Jirani Agent near you. 

They are also able to buy shopping, get a quick loan or even send pocket money this back-to-school season via Co-op bank. 

“If your salary is paid through Co-op Bank, you can apply for an instant Salary Advance of up to Sh500,000 with a repayment period of up to 3 months. No forms, No calls, No security required,” says the lender. 

To check how much you qualify for: 

  • Dial *667# or open the MCo-opCash app and login with your MCo-opCash PIN 
  • Select E-loans 
  • Select Check Loan Limit 

To apply for the loan: 

  • Dial *667# or open the MCo-opCash app and login with your MCo-opCash PIN 
  • Select E-loans 
  • Select Apply Loan. 
  • Select Salary Loan 
  • Select Loan Tenure (1, 2 or 3 months) 
  • Enter Loan Amount 
  • Accept Terms and Conditions 
  • The money will be deposited in your Mco-opCash wallet 

To pay school fees through M-Pesa, send money from M-Pesa to the School’s Co-op Account using Paybill 400222 

  • Go to Lipa na Mpesa, Paybill option 
  • Enter Business Number 400222 
  • Account Number: Enter the school code followed by # followed by the student number/admission number. 
  • For example 1059#123456789 (with no spaces). 
  • Click here to get your school code. 
  • Enter the amount you want to pay. 
  • Enter your M-Pesa PIN and confirm the transaction. 
  • You will receive a confirmation SMS with the payment details. 

 

To do a back-to-school shopping with Co-op ATM card, one does not need to withdraw cash at the ATM. 

  • It’s a VISA Debit Card. You can use it to pay for shopping, fuel, meals, hotel accommodation, other goods and services wherever you see the VISA sign in Kenya and abroad. 
  • To authorise payment, you will enter the same ATM PIN you use to withdraw cash at the ATM. Nobody can use your card unless they have the PIN. 
  • The only amount which is deducted from your account is the cost of the item which you are purchasing.
