Nairobi High Court judge justice Roselyn Kori has ruled that six suspects charged with the 2014 murder of former Juja Member of Parliament (MP) George Thuo have a case to answer.
According to Justice Korir, the prosecution had proved its case against the accused persons beyond reasonable doubt.
The Prosecution had called 30 witnesses and adduced ten exhibits during the trial.
The proprietor of Porkies Club Paul Wanaina Boiyo alias Sheki and five of his employees have been implicated in the murder of the former legislator a decade ago.
It is alleged that they committed the offence on the night of November 17, 2013 at Porkies Garden Restaurant in Thika Town within Kiambu County with others not before court.
They denied the charge when arraigned in court for plea on January 14, 2014.
Besides Boiyo alias Sheki, the co-accused are; Christopher Lumbazio Andika alias Lumba, DJs Andrew Karanja Wainaina, Samuel Kuria Ngugi alias Visi, Esther Ndinda Mulinge, a waiter, and club patron Ruth Watahi Irungu alias Atlanta.
The court said the prosecution established a prima facie case and each has a case to answer and have been put on their defense.
The five others include 30 witnesses and 10 exhibits were produced during the hearing of the case.
Thuo collapsed and died at a Thika pub on November 17, 2013.
Defence hearing begins on the February 14, 2023.
