Heroic Women Forum organise mental counselling session among women facing Maternal health challenges

The Heroic Women Forum led by the founder, Scholastica Wanjiru Muthondu has today held a forum with an aim to improve and help women facing Maternal health challenges themed “Rising above Maternal Health Challenges”

The summit brought together counselling psychologists who discussed the importance and social processes and behavior of women in the category.

According to Scholastica, the forum was started due to women losing children before or during birth process.

“The victim women face stigma in the society, it later leads to depression…. This becomes a challenge to conduct economic activities. Our message is focused on healing…. We encourage many women facing challenges after maternal health to come on board.

Scholastica further observed that she plans to be the voice in preparing women in facing the stigma challenge.

She narrated how her relative faced the same challenge and therefore decided not to put the blame on the government and start an initiative of helping women facing miscarriage.

“I want to see women being able to carry on with their lives,” she said.

Sharon Monica Amondi, a counselling psychologist observed that miscarriages are one of the issues affecting the community.

“Most women have pain in hearts and this is a good forum for them to know way forward, a forum to speak up and get to know the professionals, we are able to interact with them,” said Sharon.

James Maitho, a counselling psychologist reiterated that women would be able to come and express their pain and have solutions to the problems they face calling on the government to create such forums for women to come out and express themselves.

“Some women have been left alone and some have lost husbands due to losing their first born, we believe that their husbands are also in pain as well. we all want to achieve what is ahead of us so that other organisations can also create such forums,” observed Maitho.
