Governor Ruto tells electorates to vote out MPs crippling devolution

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has called on electorates to keenly observe the National Assembly who is to “pass a motion of reducing devolved funds from 350 million to 291 million”.

Speaking during the 1st anniversary celebrations of Chama Cha Mashinani Party held at Kapkesosio grounds in Bomet, Ruto noted that the health sector was suffering just because of lack of support by the Jubilee administration.

The former council of governor’s chairman insisted that his party is out to ensure that the local citizen benefits from devolution. He called on electorates to remove members of parliament who are against devolution.

He challenged the Jubilee government to deliver its promises in the education sector as well as infrastructure. Rutto reiterated that they will only vote in a leader who will ensure that 45 percent of the national funds is devolved. He further insisted that the elections should be peaceful this year.

The governor added that they are not with Jubilee but will negotiate with other political parties.
