Familiar faces reign supreme at Windsor JGF event

The fourth leg of the NCBA Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) US Kids spring tour produced no major surprises as familiar faces took the major honors at the Windsor Golf and Country Hotel.
After playing in the inter-schools tournament at the same venue on Friday, the juniors were back on Sunday with similar results in some categories.
In the boys’ 12, Adam Nesbitt was once again on top of his game with a score of 76, three shots ahead of Shuhan Peng on 79 and Palash Tank on 83.
Adam took over the overall lead in the group with 90 points, relegating Shuhan Peng to second on 80 points as Palash Tank follows a distant third on 62 points.
In the girls’ 13-14 years old, Armelle Amani’s fine form continued as she won the category ahead of Bianca Dave and Lael Mwangale who tied in third place with Randy Turi.
Armelle leads in the overall standings with 69 points, only a point ahead of Randy Turi. Amani Muriithi is third with 67.5 points. Lael Mwangale is fourth, marking a great improvement this season.
“I have come a long way and I have become pretty good because compared to 2022, I wasn’t the best golfer, but I had some determination in me and I worked hard to get to where I am today. So I’m proud of myself,” said Mwangale.
Chloe Chiuri was also in the mood at Windsor as she shot an impressive 73 to win the category. Aria Dodhia and Zianna Khoda were a distant 2nd and 3rd. With the win, Chiuri extends her overall lead in the standings to 99 points, a whole 40 points ahead of second placed Siqian Yu.
“The first nine was the best side, I was making some putts, though sometimes I didn’t do well on my alignments so I got a couple bogeys. But I’m targeting to win most of the tournaments if not all,” she explained.
