TV personality Janet Mbugua has made a media comeback after about eight years off the screen.
The ex-Citizen news anchor has rejoined Nation Media Group (NMG) where together with another media veteran Erick Lattif (previously of the Standard Group) will co-host several programmes.
Her return to the airwaves was announced yesterday by the NMG Head of Broadcasting Simaloi Dajom, who described Mbugua as someone highly skilled in engaging audiences.
“I am excited to inform you that renowned media personality, Janet Mbugua has joined Nation Media Group. Janet is highly skilled in engaging audiences on TV, Radio and Digital media,” she said in a statement.
Janet’s last media job was with the Royal Media Services’ Citizen TV, where she worked as a prime-time news anchor alongside Hussein Mohamed.

Janet doubled up as a show host and content producer, and has also worked for media outlets in South Africa.
In 2016, she was appointed Brand Ambassador for the Lifebuoy Help A Child Reach 5 campaign, representing Kenya globally.
On his part, Eric Latiff – a renowned radio and TV host, joined NMG after his departure from Standard Group early this month.
He announced his exit from the Mombasa Road-based media organisation on January 6, 2025, where he had worked for about a four-and-a-half-year.
