Ex-Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa in gun drama at a nightclub in Kitale after an altercation involving Wetang’ula’s aide

Drama was witnessed over the weekend at a night club in Kitale after an aide associated with National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula sparked an altercation and a near commotion at a Kitale nightclub forcing former Kiminini Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa to draw his gun in defence of a being targeted by Wetangula’s associates for allegedly disrespecting Speaker Moses.

In a viral video on social media, Wetang’ula’s aide Ben Juma stormed a meeting between the targeted Joseph Pepela and the former Kiminini MP at the club to confront him.

In the viral video, Juma is heard accusing Pepela of disrespecting Speaker Wetang’ula.

However, Wamalwa intervened, drew his gun out to defend Pepela, and asked Juma to get out of the club.

“Please get out, this is a private place, you can’t come and fight here,” the former legislator said while brandishing his gun.

Juma told Wamalwa that he had no issues with him, but only with Pepela, and asked the former MP to let them handle the matter with him.

“Pepela must show respect to the party leader, let him step outside. He keeps invoking the party leader’s name too often. Chris, we respect you, but who is Pepela? We will teach this young man some manners. We will deal with him accordingly,” Juma stated.

Wetang’ula’s aide was later seen being escorted out of the club by the security personnel to prevent the situation from escalating further.

By the time of going to broadcast, the National Assembly Speaker was yet to comment on the incident.

The incident comes days after a fight ensued between Kitutu Chache South MP Antoney Kibagendi and his Kitutu Chache North counterpart Japheth Nyakundi clashed at a funeral in Kisii County.

The two lawmakers were standing on the podium before Kibagendi launched a scathing attack against President William Ruto.

“We were hoodwinked as a community and as a nation to elect a president who is a liar,” Kibagendi said before Nyakundi interjected him.

The two continued speaking simultaneously, each holding a microphone, as tension built up among the mourners.

The situation escalated when the MPs began pushing each other across the podium, drawing cheers from sections of the crowd.

Nyakundi attempted to shove Kibagendi off the raised podium, prompting their security teams to rush forward and separate them.
