Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga confirmed that he has recovered from Covid- 19 on 18th Wednesday.
He said that he contracted the disease while in Mombasa and has been receiving treatment over a period of eighteen days.
“I was diagnosed with the disease while in the coast. We rushed to hospital where I was treated and later retreated to my home where I have been recuperating,” said Kahiga.
Mutahi Kahiga urged Nyeri residents to observe COVID-19 protocols especially wearing of masks and has urged his faithful to pray for him as he undergoes medication.
“Of late we have lost senior people in the county to this disease it the high time we keep safe, don’t take chances,” said Kahiga.
Still in Nyeri, the Archbishop Anthony Muheria, who is also the chairman of Inter- Faith Council on the Nation Emergency Response Committee on the Coronavirus, contracted Covid- 19 while presiding over the ordination. He has been sick for the last two weeks but is responding well to treatment.
Nyeri County Speaker John Kaguchia urged county government to supply all public hospitals with oxygen saying that most of them do not have such facilities which are critical in fighting the disease.
