Bank robbery suspects want CCTV footage produced in court

Six suspects charged in connection with Sh46 Million theft from Commercial Bank of Africa, Nakuru Branch have demanded to be furnished with CCTV footage showing the incident.

Through lawyer Frank Mwangi, the six demanded that the footage be availed alongside photographs and any other crucial documentary evidence that will be used by the prosecution side.

“We demand that we be supplied with the footage of the alleged incidents and any documentary evidence the prosecution will rely upon,” said Mwangi

However the prosecution side told the court that it had already supplied all documentary evidence of pictures they intended to use in their case.

“We have already supplied the defense with what we intended to use and that is pictures of the accused in the bank, ” said Songoyo

According to the six, the pictures are not enough evidence to charge them adding that a CCTV footage ought to be presented in court.

Chief Magistrate Geoffrey Oduor in his ruling ordered the security manager of the CBA bank to furnish the security footage to the defense.

The case was slated for hearing on October 10.
