All set for the 2025 FKF Mozzart Bet Cup
The official tournament draw will take place on Monday, February 17, 2025, kicking off the competition
A total 64 teams are lined up for the 2025 edition of FKF Mozzart Bet Cup which will include teams from across all registered divisions.
This season also welcomes a strong non-league presence, with teams like Kakamega Veterans, Jumbo TFC and Donholm Seniors, adding an extra layer of unpredictability to the competition. Giant killers like Denmark FC of Kwale County who shocked Premier league champions Gor Mahia FC last season in the first round of the competition will be joined by Compel FC of Western Kenya that reached the quarter finals last year.
A total of 12 FKF Premier League teams and five FKF National Super League sides form the top-tier contingent will be a part of it, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive tournament. The winner of this knockout competition represents the country in the CAF Confederations Cup.
The official tournament draw will take place on Monday, February 17, 2025, kicking off the competition. The Round of 64 will be played in March, followed by the Round of 16 in April. The quarterfinals and semifinals are set for May, with the grand finale scheduled for June.
Last year’s winners were Kenya Police FC after seeing off KCB FC in post-match penalties. The law enforcers then under coach Salim Babu however lost in the preliminary stages to Egyptian giants Zamalek SC 3-1 on aggregate
The competition is used to give the lower teams to compete for glory. A lot of top talents are found in this tournament with unexpected results. Some of the teams that will partake in this year’s tournament include; Kenya Police FC, Kakamega Homeboyz FC, Ulinzi Stars FC,Muranga Seal FC,KCB FC,Tusker FC,Gor Mahia FC,AFC Leopards SC, Shabana FC, Bandari FC , Kariobangi Sharks FC and Bidco United.
The Super league clubs enlisted are; Fortune Sacco FC,SS Assad, Nairobi United, Luanda Villa SC,MOFA and Kibera Soccer FC. Other teams in the competition include Vegpro FC, Kapenguria United FC,Githurai AllStars FC, Garissa United FC, Rwafa FC, Desert Scorpions FC, Webuye Sportiff FC, Bungoma Superstars FC and Al-Azizia FC, amongst others.
