AFC Leopards’ U45 Unit branch to launch 2025 activities in Nairobi

AFC Leopards SC U45 Unit branch is set to kick start its 2025 activities with a consultative meeting in Nairobi this weekend.

The meeting, which will gather key stakeholders, is aimed at discussing new partnerships and strategies for the year ahead, as well as finalizing preparations for the second annual Gala Award Ceremony, scheduled for June 2025.

Branch chairman Olympia Musonye, outlined several key areas of focus for the organization throughout 2025. Being an electioneering year, a lot of activities are scheduled to take place and Musonye has insisted on having as many fans as possible allowed to vote when the time comes.

“This year, we want to focus more in making AFC Leopards great again and that means we have to take the lead as a branch,” he said. “We want to direct our efforts in making sure that the brand grows and fans enjoy everything happening around them.”

Having successfully held a successful gala last year, the branch plans to make it bigger by taking it outside Nairobi and have the fans from Western Kenya have an opportunity to interact with the team just before the start of next season.

“We are planning to have our gala in Western Kenya, probably Kakamega in June, this is in line with our vision of connecting with the wider fan base,” Olympia said. “We have also been contacted by several corporates and a big international investor to be part of what we are doing and this will be a huge milestone for us,” he added.

Musonye said the branch will also focus in ensuring the AFC Leopards Youth team gets proper preparations ahead of league matches.

“The AFC Leopards Youth team has been undergoing a lot of issues including dishing out walkovers last season and players lacking proper preparations for matches. The U45 Unit Branch will ensure that the team prepares for matches smoothly and we will support them just as we did last year,” he added.

Musonye expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming year, stating, “The year 2025 is set to be a pivotal year for both the U45 Unit and AFC Leopards as a whole. We have ambitious plans to strengthen our fan base, grow our partnerships, and continue to support the development of young talent. We are committed to creating a lasting impact, not only within the football community but in the broader society through our CSR efforts.”
