More than 20,000 leaders from Western Kenya have gathered in the region’s traditional capital of Kakamega ahead of a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The leaders are drawn from the four Western Kenya counties of Kakamega, Bungoma, Vihiga and Busia.
The meeting is expected to discuss the President’s development agenda for the region as well as mobilising support for his re-election in the October 26 fresh polls.
After meeting with the leaders, President Kenyatta will head to Mumias East where he will attend the victory party of Jubilee MP Benjamin Washiali.
