Police have arrested a most wanted man alleged for notoriously defrauding Kenyans millions of shillings.
According to the police, the suspect; Abdifaqar Abdirashid Abey was nabbed at Wilson Airport awaiting to board a plane to Elwak.
“The man is suspected to have defrauded the public millions of shillings, as reported at Nyanchwa Police Station in Kisii,” NPS said.
He was reportedly arrested following a tip-off from members of the public.
His arrest follows the Mulot SIM swap fraud suspect David Mutai alias Hillary Langat Matindwet, who was arrested last month.
Prior to his arrest, police had launched a manhunt for Langat who was suspected of being involved in mobile money transfer fraud in Bomet and Narok counties.
He is suspected to be one of the leaders of the infamous Mulot SIM swap syndicate operating along the border of the two counties.
He is alleged to have siphoned Sh941,000 from a bank account belonging to a Member of Parliament who had travelled out of the country between December 2 and 3 last year.
