The twelve police officers linked to the murder of baby Samantha Pendo in 2017 have been arraigned today at the Milimani Law courts.
Justice Daniel Ogembo directed that they appear for plea taking on November 21.
The suspects’ defence lawyers raised objections to their clients being charged claiming that the court’s jurisdiction had been challenged.
Ogembo released the officers on a personal bond of Sh200,000 in condition that they would present themselves for oath taking on the set date.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji had brought the case forward with recommendation of the Independent Policing and Oversight Authority (IPOA).
The officers are charged with rape and torture as crime against humanity for the 2017 post-election sactioned violence.
