The country’s Covid 19 cases are on the rise again after the Ministry of Health reported yesterday that 106 people had tested positive from a sample size of 1,113 tested in 24 hours.
MoH through a statement confirmed that 91 of the cases were Kenyans while 15 were foreigners; 68 males, 38 females and the youngest aged one while the oldest being 81 years.
The total recorded number of positive cases are 339,253 out of 3,919,622 cumulative tests conducted.
Nairobi county recorded 92 of the total cases, Garissa (7), Mombasa (3), Busia, Mandera, Meru, Nyeri one case each.
Total recoveries amount to 333,071 as 21 patients recovered from the disease.
No deaths have been recorded so far hence cumulative fatalities stand at 5,678.
“There are 6 patients currently admitted in our health facilities, while 498 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program,” Cabinet Secretary Health, Susan Nakhumincha stated.
She added that the government was working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033.
