Police have arrested four suspects connected to the murder of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s Embakasi East constituency Returning Officer Daniel Musyoka.
The Nairobi Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau said the deceased’s phone was traced to the four.
Three of the suspects repair phones in Nairobi’s central business district.
The fourth suspect told the police that he collected the phone on Mombasa Road on August 14, three days after Musyoka went missing.
According to the suspect, he didn’t know that the phone belonged to the slained IEBC official.
The suspect afterwards took it to the phone fixers in Nairobi CBD, who formatted it and sold it to a woman in Kisii county.
Police said they traced the phone to the woman in Kisii town and confiscated it.
The woman who was pardoned, said she’d used the mobile device for a month.
The four suspects are expected to be arraigned today at the Madaraka Law courts.
