National assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has urged the NASA leaders to stop intimidating the IEBC and allow the commission to execute its mandate as stipulated in the constitution.
Muturi said the commission is an independent body and should be given an opportunity to carry out its mandate in ensuring that the country will have free and fair elections in August.
Muturi dismissed the NASA leaders for trying to control and direct the IEBC on how to perform their duties and the commission have powers to award tenders to the company that meet the procurement regulations.
Muturi said that the NASA leaders were very much aware of the procurement of the ballot papers claiming that the opposition leaders are not ready for the elections and they are bent on causing mayhem in the country.
Addressing mourners during the Burial of Eng Elton Njue Njiru Muturi said that the opposition leaders said that the leaders should follow the legal means to challenge the ballot printing tender instead of threatening the commission and Kenyans over the ballot tender.
