Protest hit Embu town after high court nullified Party of National Unity repeat nominations that are said to have been conducted even after Embu court had issued a court order barring the exercise.
The protesters, who are Embu PNU gubernatorial supporters Kithinji Kiragu, disrupted the smooth running of Embu-Meru highway for the part of the day.
Led by youth leader Charles Kimenjo the protester said that if Kithinji Kiragu’s name will not be on the ballot paper come august general election they will not come out to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kimenjo said that youths in Embu County will cause chaos and disruption during Election Day to make sure Embu County will not have peaceful election.
The protests accused former transport permanent secretary Dr Silas Njiru for misusing the court process to frustrating Kithinji Kiragu.
Ann Gathoni a strong supporter of Kiragu said his rival rushed in court after he lost during the first party nominations but he refused to participate in the second exercise after the court narifaid the whole process terming it as a sham.
Gathoni said that during the second nominations Kithinji won with over 10,000 vote’s against his rival who garnered only a thousand votes after failing to mobilize his supporters to vote for him.
