Roots Party deputy presidential candidate Justina Wamae has been summoned for a disciplinary hearing for misrepresenting the party after the announcement of presidential results.
The Party’s legal director Washika Wachira accused Wamae of breaching party structures in making commentaries that misrepresented the party’s manifesto and made it suffer public ridicule and disrespect.
“We have been instructed by party leader George Wajackoyah concerning your current utterances both in mainstream and social media in need of a disciplinary hearing,” said Wachira in a letter directed to the deputy presidential candidate.
He also cited Wamae’s congratulatory message to President-elect William Ruto, disassociates herself with the party and becomes an ally to their opponents.
“It is in our knowledge that you have continuously disassociated yourself with the party and its ideologies. You have associated yourself with our opponents and advocated for their ideologies,” stated Roots Party’s legal director.
Justina is further accused of alleging that the party leader, George Wajackoya had endorsed the candidature of Raila Odinga in the presidential election.
She is expected to appear for the disciplinary hearing on Friday, August 26 at the party’s headquarters.
She has further been warned to restrain from making any comments on behalf of the party with failure to do so prompting a legal action to be taken against her.
“Failure to stop the misrepresentation and irresponsible utterances, we have instructions to institute a legal action against you without further notice, to you, to your peril as to cost and consequences,” commented Washika Wachira.
