Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua today met members of the clergy drawn from all counties.
The meeting was also attended by Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho who appealed for peaceful campaigns and national unity.
They also met with Ambassadors drawn from European Union member states.
“Kenya is the gateway to Africa; our relations with the global community impact our region. My administration will enhance and deepen mutually beneficial ties to benefit our people,” Raila said.
As the contest for State House heats up, Odinga has adjusted his campaign tactics by dividing his team into regional groupings and strengthening his messaging.
Even as the countdown to the August 9 election approaches, the ODM leader and Karua are leading simultaneous but well-coordinated Azimio campaigns.
Since being named Odinga’s running mate, Karua has focused on the vote-rich Mt Kenya region.
Cascade campaigns are part of the strategy, with experienced regional leaders leading the Azimio vote search in their areas.
