Detectives attached to Directorate of Criminal Investigative have launched manhunt for two armed robbers who attacked a 38-year-old man on Saturday night in Kiambu County.
James Chomba was walking home at around 11:30pm when he was accosted by two thugs armed with a gun outside Rongera apartments in Kinoo.
The thugs ordered him to lie down but Chomba defied the orders, opting to run for his dear life.
“Outfoxed, one of the thugs opened fire and shot him, the bullet head entering the chest through the left side and exiting on the right. But an unbowed Chomba sprinted to his house missing other shots by a whisker,” stated DCI’s report.
As the thugs staged their escape, the area chief got wind of the attack and immediately called officers based at Kikuyu Police Station, who rushed to the scene.
The victim, who was bleeding profusely from the gunshot wounds, was rushed to the M.P Shah hospital for treatment.
Luckily, after doctors at the facility conducted various tests, it was established that Chomba was out of danger since the bullet head had not touched any vital internal organs.
He is currently admitted at the hospital in fair condition.
