The Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) headed by Managing Director Peter Mundinia is on the spot over the poorly condoned off section of Mombasa Road by the contractor using a tape.
Following the heavy downpour, the tape was soaked exposing motorists to danger at Nyayo Stadium.
The off section is to pave way for the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Expressway along Mombasa road.
The downpour is expected in Nairobi County this week according to Meteorological Department’s latest five-day forecast.
Nairobi will experience maximum temperatures of 24 degrees and a minimum of 17 degrees as it receives moderate rains today from 6 am to 12 pm with moderate showers from afternoon to 6pm.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the county will experience light rains and moderate showers the entire day with a maximum temperature of 25 degrees.
On Thursday, moderate rains coupled up with light showers will be experienced with light rains pounding the county on Friday.
Sunny intervals will be witnessed on Friday at noon.
Heavy rains are expected to continue to soak most of the country.
The Met department said Kenyans should be on the lookout for possible floods and landslides.
