2022 crash programme to resume
The 2021 crash academic year will come to an end in March, bringing in the season of national examinations which will be a great relief to students, parents and teachers.
The school holidays will also be longer than in the past with students taking a seven-week break before returning on April 25,2022.
The end of the academic year in early February is due to a reorganization of the calendar to compensate for the time lost in 2020 due to the protracted closure imposed by the outbreak of the covid-19 epidemic.
Parents have struggled to pay school fees for the back-to-back sessions since schools reopened in January last year after a 10-month shutdown.
In the same way as last year, 2022 will have four terms.
The situation has been made worse by the poor economy, job losses, business failures, and the painfully growing cost of living.
When school returns in April, the academic year in 2022 will be hectic, with only one-week vacations in July, August, and September before the year closes in November. The usual calendar will resume in January of the following year.
Financial difficulties were also evident in schools, as administrators struggled to run the institutions.
Principals and heads of schools have expressed their dissatisfaction with the frequent late payouts to schools.
The problem for school administrators is exacerbated by government legislation, which states that students should not be sent home for non-payment of fees.
They accuse some parents of abusing the situation by failing to pay their children’s expenses.
