Lands CAS Kimani Ngunjiri in gun drama over half care land tussle in Nakuru
Controversial politician and Lands Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri who has numerously hit headlines for all the wrong reasons in the past was today involved in a dramatic gun scuffle over half-an-acre disputed piece of land he allegedly lays claim on but Susan Murugi says she’s the legitimate owner.
The CAS who is also the immediate former Bahati constituency Member of Parliament (MP), a post he unsuccessfully defended after humiliating defeat by Jubilee Party MP Irene Njoki is said to have fired three gunshots and injured one person after he missed target having aimed at Murugi’s brother William Ndung’u who confronted him for allegedly assaulting his sister.
The CAS is said to have stormed Solai Ndungiri farm in Subukia at around 6am leading a battalion of youths and a tractor, destroyed a fence belonging to one of the residents adjacent to disputed land leading to a dramatic scuffle.

Despite having been disarmed in 2020 by detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Ngunjiri whisked a pistol, fired but he has since been disarmed.
The injured person is recuperating in hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
Officers attached to the Nakuru DCI county headquarters have since seized the firearm for ballistic analysis.
It is not clear whether Ngunjiri’s civilian license to own a firearm has since been reinstated after he was disarmed three years ago.
In an amateur video footage that has since gone viral, disturbing scenes are seen playing out and indiscriminate wailing of Murugi in the background amid shouts of “come kill me (kuja uniue).” Murugi shouted.
At some point, a man believed to be Ndung’u, Murugi’s brother is heard engaged in a verbal confrontation with the former MP on why he shot at his sister.
“You want to kill my sister? Blood is thicker than water. Why are you assaulting my sister?” The man is heard questioning the CAS who hurls insults back at the unidentified woman.
During the ensuing melee, a group men are seen trying to confront an armed police officer before gunshots rent the air.
Police said they have taken a pistol from the CAS to aid in their investigations.
Ngunjiri is not new to controversy, last year in may just months before last August polls, politicians allied to Jubilee Party led by Njoki recorded a statement at Bahati Police Station in Nakuru accusing the politician of instigating violent attacks against them.
“You cannot think you are above the law and attack my team. It has been a habit and we will not let this one just slide.” Njoki said after recording the statement.
At the time, she was accompanied by former Naivasha MP John Mututho.
In 2021, Ngunjiri, through a firm associated to him, Pale Kenya Limited was embroiled in a protracted scandalous land row with an elderly granny then aged 72 years.
Through her lawyer Eric Mutemi of Nzamba Kitonga Advocates, Pauline Mwangangi accused Ngunjiri of using his firm, Pale Kenya Ltd, to transfer the Sh15 million prime land to his name.
