A day after Meru senator Mithika Linturi was vindicated over the “madoadoa” remarks, he now has a new charge facing him.
Linturi faces a fresh arrest over allegedly forging a signature to get a Sh530 million back loan using his estranged wife’s property as collateral.
Linturi will be charged with six others including his personal assistant Emily Buantai, Family Bank, Daudi Kiema and Sarah Kabucho who are both employees of Family Bank, Josephine Wambua (Family Bank advocate) and Kenneth Gathuma (officer at the Registrar of Companies).
Some of the charges are – abuse of office, impersonation, conspiracy to defraud, fraudulently procuring the registration of charge documents, and the making of false documents, among others.
Family Bank currently enjoined in three charges was due to the alleged lack of performing due diligence on the documents used by the Meru senator.
The bank allowed the lawmaker to secure a loan using forged documents with the alleged documents.
His case continues after a 90-day lapse and the resubmission of two files in his case by the DCI and after the authorisation of his arrest and prosecution by Judge Hedwig Ong’udi.
