17 years old girl arrested after stabbing boyfriend’s uncle to death in Buruburu, Nairobi
Police in Buruburu are holding a 17-yearls old after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend’s uncle to death while he sought to mediate a dispute between the duo at their home in Buruburu, Nairobi.
On the fateful day of Christmas Day, the 41-year-old man identified as Collins Onyango reportedly went to his nephew’s residence when an argument broke out between him and 17-year-old girl.
According to police preliminary findings, the teenager allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Onyango in the neck during the altercation.
A neighbor who witnessed the incident alerted authorities, and the victim was rushed to Edel Vale Trust Jamaa Mission Hospital in Buruburu.
However, he was pronounced dead on arrival. Officers from the National Police Service visited the scene and recovered the suspected murder weapon.
The investigators visited both the home now regarded as an active crime scene.
Onyango’s body was later transferred to the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital mortuary pending autopsy examination.
The suspect sustained minor injuries following a botched mob lynching attempt by members of the public after the incident.
She was rescued by police, treated at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, and subsequently placed in custody.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Buruburu have taken over the case as investigations continue.
