14 year old class six pupil arrested for killing his neighbour aged 10 over ugali and kunde

Homicide detectives in Navakholo, Kakamega County are investigating a bizarre incident in which a 14 years old class six juvenile killed his neighbour, a minor aged ten years over a plate of ugali and kunde yesterday evening.

He is reported to have dumped the body of the deceased at the nearby River Simakina.

Today morning, when he reported to school, he confessed to the teacher of having killed his neighbour.

Navakholo Sub County Police Commander Richard Omanga confirmed the incident saying the deceased years was looking after his family’s cattle when he was ambushed and attacked by his schoolmate.

He then led them to the scene where the body was found in the water.

The OCPD said the body had serious head injuries and was taken to Kakamega Referral and Hospital mortuary as investigations to the case continue.

The two pupils were neighbours.

Preliminary police findings show the suspect arrived home from school yesterday and was informed that the food he intended to eat had been eaten by his neighbour.

He then pursued him and hit him on the head with a blunt object, killing him on the spot before throwing his body into the river.
