Melis Medo has made history as the shortest serving coach in Kenya Premier League (KPL) history after he was fired by huge spending Wazito fc who are making a debut in top flight football.
Medo who initially gad stints with Nakumatt Fc, and Sofapaka, was axed after just four matches in charge that translates to 360 minutes and replaced by former coach Frank Ouna who now becomes the team’s third coach in 10 matches.
He managed to win only a single match out of the four he was in charge of after taking the reigns from former Harambee Stars coach Stanley Okumbi, but Wednesday’s shock 2-0 loss to fellow league debutants Kisumu All Stars seem to have ended the patiences of the team owners.
“There is no proper reason given to me but its okay. All there was, is a message by Sport Director Solomon Alubala. I do not understand because for me everything came from the heart. We had good rapport with the players as far as I know,” Medo told People Sport.
He added: “There is nothing more that can be done to that team, because they get Sh12, 000 winning bonus but victory is still not easy to achieve.”
