The number of persons who have died from cholera outbreak in Mombasa has reached seven, with fear rife that the situation was getting worse.
A report tabled in the county assembly on Tuesday revealed that 34 other persons had been confirmed to have cholera out of 116 suspected cases.
The report presented by the chairman of the Committee on Health Kibwana Baya, who is also the Miritini Ward Member of the County Assembly came in the wake of public outcry over mountains of uncollected garbage that is not only an eye shore but cause of foul smell that is chocking residents and visitor in the resort city.
Three of the victims died last week while receiving treatment.
