You should not have conceded defeat before official announcement, Kalonzo reacts to Central Kenya candidates

The Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka now says candidates who conceded defeat in the Central Kenya region should not have done that.

Kalonzo said the candidates should have remained patient and waited for the official announcement of results from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

“We have a majority of Members of Parliament and governors. We had to debunk this thing which is circulating on social media to the contrary,” he said.

“I was a bit perturbed when I saw people conceding. Nobody should have conceded in Central Kenya because you will be shocked when the truth is known,” Kalonzo said.

“A very hearty congratulations to all of you who have done well and done our coalition proud. You have stood firm for our leader ‘Baba the Fifth’. We are confident of a win, we cannot announce though but will wait for IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati to do that,” Kalonzo added.

He went ahead to ask the IEBC to be transparent through the vote verification process, urging the nation to remain calm even after the final results will be announced.

“We urge IEBC to do the country the next legitimate thing and announce the winner. I know that the country is going to remain peaceful after this announcement. “And I congratulate our fellow citizens for remaining patient,” he said.
