Grass root women seeking leadership positions in the country have called on the government and political parties to consider the gender rule while allocating positions.
Speaking during a sensitization walk in Nanyuki over the weekend, the women noted that popular parties in the country have sabotaged women leadership in their move to end male dominance in power.
They observed that the offices of both NASA and Jubilee parties are dominated by male terming the move as unconstitutional.
Women in politics also complained about encountering sexism in their campaign trail calling on the government to protect them especially during this period.
Through their spokesperson Teresiah Kimani they added that despite women reporting cases of violence against them to the authorities nothing has been done by the government to curb these habits.
