Wetang’ula to lead MPs to Injendi’s burial
The late MP has been eulogised as a man driven by an unshakable passion for education and an unwavering commitment to helping the less fortunate
Several leaders are expected to join the family of the late Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi for his burial at his rural home in Vihiga.
Among the leaders expected is the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, who will be joined by the late MP’s colleagues.
The late MP has been eulogised as a man driven by an unshakable passion for education and an unwavering commitment to helping the less fortunate.
He passed away mid last month at the age of 58 while receiving treatment at the Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
His widow, Betty Musonye Malulu, described him as a loving, caring, and generous husband.
“He filled my life with love, laughter, and purpose. He was a man of integrity, kindness, and devotion–not just to me but to everyone fortunate enough to know him,” Betty eulogized her late husband.
Wetang’ula led a section of legislators in eulogising the MP who was serving his third term at the time of his death.
Wetang’ula noted that only family members and the president would be allowed to speak during the ceremony today.
The Speaker described Injendi as a close friend and a respected legislator committed to parliamentary work.
“Malulu actively participated in sessions that focused on streamlining the education sector as he served in the committee. He particularly focused on the implementation of the new curriculum and addressing issues affecting the higher education sector,” the speaker stated in his tribute to Injendi.
National Assembly Clerk Samuel Njoroge remembered Malulu as an approachable and prayerful man.
“He was a devoted family man. He even proposed a motion to reduce marriage registration costs and ensure that registrar offices were established in every county to make it easier for people to get married, including those who preferred church weddings,” the clerk stated.
