Roots Party presidential candidate, George Wajackoyah has dismissed a viral video doing rounds on social media platforms that purports he endorsed Raila Odinga’s presidency.
According to Wajackoya’s spokesperson, Wilson Muirani (Jaymo Ule Msee), the viral video has been “doctored” and the party leader will be on the ballot ahead of the much-anticipated elections.
“We would like to categorically state that we have a presidential candidate who is on the Ballot and will win this Election and we would like to distance ourselves from those claims and assure our supporters that victory is coming,” Jaymo said.
Jaymo further said that they will not endorse Raila’s presidency and the notion of him supporting the Azimio One Kenya Alliance is wishful thinking.
“We have not and will not endorse any other candidate. The notion that Wajackoya has endorsed Raila Odinga is a hopeless imagination and wishful thinking that only exists in the minds of a biased media,” Jaymo added.
The roots party further scolded the Kenya Kwanza coalition led by Deputy President William Ruto and Raila’s Azimio for creating a notion of winning the upcoming election to sugarcoat their panic mode.
“We understand the various political camps have panicked over their expectations vs reality in this election and therefore have resulted in all underhand means to create a notion of winning this election,” Jaymo said.
The Kenyan electorate is expected to go to the polls next week Tuesday to choose their preferred leaders for the next five years.
Wajackoya is expected to face David Mwaure of Agano Party, Raila of Azimio, and William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza.
