My government would look into the welfare of tea farmers and put in place measures to resuscitate the once-lucrative tea sector, Kirinyaga governor seat Jubilee candidate Anne Waiguru has said.
Speaking when she toured Kangaita Tea Factory and tea farms in the area early this week, Waiguru said that should she win the Kirinyaga governorship race, she would find markets for the produce and improve the welfare of workers in tea plantations and factories.
The former Devolution Cabinet Secretary further reassured farmers in the tea sector in Kirinyaga that she has crafted a plan that will ensure a complete turnaround in the tea sector and ensure farmers reap maximum profits from their harvests.
