Unapologetic Justina Wamae says she will not attend disciplinary hearing
Roots Party deputy presidential candidate Justina Wamae has claimed she will not honour a disciplinary hearing over breaching party structures and congratulating President-elect William Ruto.
According to Wamae, the allegations levelled against her are non-existent and imagined.
“I will not respond to pettiness. But on the non-existent accommodation and car, you imagined you assisted me with, you can withdraw in your dreams. It is your party. Do what you deem fit. I will soldier on,” she stated on her Twitter account.
The George Wajackoya-led party accused Wamae of making contradictory and malicious statements about the party on both mainstream and social media contrary to the party communications structures.
Through a statement made public by the Roots Party leader, Wajackoyah accused Wamae of gross misconduct in the just concluded General Election.
Wajackoyah further revealed that Wamae had blocked him and other party officials from direct communication with her.
The party further accused Wamae of associating herself with their opponents and advocating for their ideologies.
In the demand letter, Wamae is expected to present herself at the party headquarters in Karen, on Friday this week.
Days after Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati declared Deputy President William Ruto the winner of the just concluded general elections, Wamae took to her social media to congratulate the new President – elect.
Wamae, while congratulating the two Kenya Kwanza leaders, said she will support Ruto and Gachagua to achieve a financially secure Kenya that is dignified across the globe.
“Congratulations Ruto and Rigathi on your victory. As the representative of the Kenyan youth, I will support in any way I can to achieve a financially secure Kenya that is dignified across the globe. God bless you and your families as you undertake your new responsibility,” Wamae said.
Wamae further termed the election process as transparent, noting that polling station agents would have raised an alarm of any foul play at their various posts.
“The Returning Officer in the constituency level would have been alarmed and told you the national tallying centre had no power in determining the outcome of the 2022 Presidential election,” she said.
Wamae also took the opportunity to slam political parties that lost at the polls and have since contested the results while pointing out Roots Party, on whose ticket she ran jointly with its presidential candidate Wajackoyah, as one such political entity that has challenged the results alleging vote rigging.
