Twin murders most foul involving man aged 60, son 22 in Embu, assailants at large
Homicide detectives in Embu are investigating the macabre killing of a man and his son in a remote Makangu village in Embu.
In a bizarre incident, the dismembered body of Lucas Mbogo aged 60 years was found buried in a shallow grave within his homestead while his son’s hacked body, Eric Mbogo aged 22 was inside their house.
The duo lived together at their home although in separate houses.
Police are now treating the case as premeditated twin murders executed by people well known to them.
Now, sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have narrowed down their probe to unearth the motive and to establish the circumstantial evidence the led to the horrific killings.
Their neighbours became suspicious after they failed to spot them around the village or within their homestead and reported the matter to the police.
Upon visiting the compound, while conducting a search in one of the houses, they spotted the lifeless body of Eric lying on the bed with his throat slit.
On searching the compound, the officers found the father buried in a shallow grave and exhumed his body, which had deep cuts.
