Public transport company, Transline Classic has distanced itself from a viral video where one of their employees was recorded celebrating Azimio One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga’s defeat after the Supreme Court verdict.
In the video, the man is seen wearing the company’s uniform while shouting and running on the streets celebrating the verdict which was a major blow on Raila.
“Wake up! He has been defeated again! Come out and see how he has been defeated again!” the man is seen shouting while filming himself.
The Tiktok video had seen its rounds on social media and angered a section of Kenyans.
Through a statement, the company has said the video of the employee, who is a casual worker at the company’s Afya Centre terminus in Nairobi, does not in any way represent the company’s political view.
“Our attention has been drawn by a video clip going round the social media. However, we disassociate ourselves from the clip and state that it was done by an individual’s will and does not in any way represent the views of the company,” the statement reads in part.
The company has promised to take disciplinary action against the employee and has apologized to their customers, saying that they are in business and not in politics.
“We apologize to everybody, especially to our esteemed customers for the offending clip. We will continue to give the best services to all our customers,” the company said.
