Five former candidates for Lang’ata constituency challenge Korir victory
Five parliamentary election losers in Lang’ata constituency have moved to court to challenge the election of Nixon Kiprotich Korir.
Oscar Omoke Ocholla, Kavore Kariuki, Daniel Odera, Hillary Okumu and Margery Nduta claim that the number of forms and returns were not signed as required under the law.
They are seeking scrutiny, recount and verification of all the votes cast in Lang’ata Constituency. They want the court to hold that IEBC and returning Officer Martin Simotwo abetted election offences during the polls.
They want the court to find that Korir was not elected in a free and fair elections and his victory should be nullified.
