Ruto pledges to gift Harambee Stars players Sh2.5million each if they beat Zambia
He will also gift them Sh1 million and a two-bedroom affordable housing unit each in a location of their choice if they win in the quarter finals of the CHAN 2024 tournament
President William Ruto has upped the bonuses each Harambee Stars players and technical staff will earn if they win their match against Zambia’s Chipolopolo on Sunday from Sh1 million to Sh2.5 million.
Speaking when he met the team at Pullman Hotel in Nairobi, a day after they beat all odds to secure a 1-0 victory against fancied Morocco’s Atlas Lions, Ruto also pledged to gift them Sh1 million and a two-bedroom affordable housing unit each in a location of their choice if they win in the quarter finals of the CHAN 2024 tournament.
“Unity has always propelled us forward. We must never allow negativity, failure, or doubt to prevent us from reaching our full potential. If we believe in ourselves and refuse to let division or hate enter the equation, Kenya can become the great nation we all dream of. The Harambee Stars are proof of what unity can achieve. They have brought the country together and we are all witnessing the success it is bringing to the nation. We stand behind you, praying that this time we win will CHAN because it’s within close reach,” he said in a statement.
