Police launch probe on alleged robbery at CS Jumwa’s home

Detectives are investigating a case where armed robbers raided Public Service Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa’s home in Loresho yesterday and made away with valuables, including Sh1.1million.

According to a police report, the gang managed to enter her house through an unlocked back door.

They cut the electric perimeter fence to access the compound and ransacked the bedroom of the CS’s daughters and stole Sh1.1 million, three mobile phones. One of the girls was reportedly injured in the incident.

Nairobi regional police commander Adamson Bungei says preliminary investigations show that the thugs knew their way around the house.

“This looks like an incident committed by people who knew what they wanted and knew there were no police officers in the compound,” he noted.

He said that the guards who were on duty will undergo interrogation to establish clues that will lead to the arrest of the criminals.
