Other candidates who have so far expressed their interest in the third most respected position in the country include Noah Winja, Jared Oluoch Oundo, Isaac Aluoch Polo, Farah Maalim, and Robert Gichimu Githinji.

Musyoka and Wetangula picked their nomination papers at Parliament following the gazettement of the first sitting scheduled for Thursday, where the elected legislators will be sworn in and immediately elect a speaker and deputy speaker thereafter.
The duo, Wetangula and Musyoka have been fronted by their respective political factions; Kenya Kwanza and Azimio One Kenya Alliances led by president-elect William Ruto and Raila Odinga who came second in the August 9 polls.
Ruto is set to be sworn in at the Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday as the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya after the Supreme Court judges under the leadership of Lady Chief Justice Martha Koome validated his victory as declared by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati.
After the Supreme Court upheld William Ruto’s win as announced by the chair, president Uhuru failed to congratulate his estranged principal assistant Ruto on his win as the 5th president of the republic of Kenya.
Uhuru confirmed that the assumption of the office committee had already started the handing over power processes as per the requirement in the constitution.
The National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC) while invigilating the process at Kasarani today has confirmed of plans are in top-gear for the national day event.
