Six people sustain injuries in an accident on Migori-Rongo highway

Six people have sustained injuries in an accident involving three motor vehicles which occurred today morning at Kanga area on the Migori-Rongo highway.

Rongo Sub-county Deputy Police Commander Zebedi Amsanda confirmed the accident, saying the accident was caused by the driver of a vehicle who was making his way into the Migori-Rongo highway at Kanga junction.

“The driver of the vehicle suspected to have caused the accident was among the five people who were injured in the accident. The driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries while the other five passengers who were in other vehicles sustained minor injuries,” he said.

Additionally, he has called on the motorists and other road users to be cautious when using the Migori-Rongo highway which is still under construction.

Elsewhere, Central Regional police commander Titus Karuri has been involved in a road accident at Kirere market in Kigumo Sub-County, Murang’a County

According to police, Karuri’s vehicle was involved in an accident on today along the Kangema-Kigumo road.

Confirming the incident, Murang’a County police commander Donatha Kiplangat said Karuri was rushed to Kigumo health centre for First Aid before being transferred to a hospital in Nairobi for further treatment and was responding well to treatment.
