A group of Kenyans were yesterday rescued from Myanmar by Thai Army and are currently in Thailand awaiting repatriation.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kenyan citizen are alleged to have been promised jobs in south Asia.
Kenya’s embassy in Thailand have revealed that they are currently dealing on another case of four Kenyans who are still held up in the factories.
“The Embassy’s attention was drawn following numerous distress calls of Kenyans duped into non-existent jobs in the South East region,” stated the embassy.
Many Kenyans are being duped into non-existent jobs in the south east regions as a result of high rate of unemployment in Kenya and ever-increasing rate in the cost of living forcing many Kenyans to go out in search of greener pasture.
However, many Kenyans opt to follow “fishy” procedures to get to their specific destination hence many find themselves falling in the wrong hands abroad.
Not even harrowing tales of how other Kenyans had suffered in those country can stop many from taking up the job.
Many Kenyans have shown their dissatisfaction with the way Kenyan are suffering while in abroad a place referred to be greener pasture, we are informed that many Kenyans spend sleepless night after receiving of horrific stories from their loved one.
Any Kenyan Citizen male or female of 18 years and above of sound mind are allowed to fly out in search of jobs.
Anyone with interest to work abroad are trained to make sure they collaborate with registered employment agencies, website, the media and relatives before settling to move out of the country.
They are expected to possess an original identification card or possessing a valid passport document.
