Ruto vows to put up 10,000 low-cost housing for Eldoret residents
Deputy President William Ruto has vowed that his administration will put up 10,000 low-cost housing for Eldoret residents if his Kenya Kwanza team wins on August 9.
Speaking in Langas, Eldoret town after attending a church service at PCEA Langas he further claimed he will create 50,000 jobs for residents.
“I want to promise you that I will not let you down and as my people here at home, let no one come here to plan for you,” Ruto said.
Ruto also committed to nominate an extra MP and two MCAs from the Luo and Luhya populations in the county.
The DP campaigned in the area for UDA candidates such as local MP Oscar Sudi and governor Jackson Mandago, among others.
To make his job simpler if elected president in August, he urged locals to vote for all UDA nominees.
Kenya Kwanza, he added, would prioritise economic expansion by investing more than Sh100 billion to create more jobs for young people.
Despite the ongoing political campaigns, Ruto stated that Kenya would stay calm.
He criticized Azimio as aimless, claiming that its founders intend to resurrect the BBI and create jobs for themselves.
“For us, our first job will be the economy and jobs for our youth,” Ruto said.
Moses Kuria, Ndindi Nyoro, Didmus Barasa, Kimani Ngunjiri, Sudi and Mandago were among the people he was with.
Nyoro warned president Uhuru Kenyatta not to advocate for Azimio because he would be shamed in the polls.
On August 9th, he stated, the Mt Kenya area had already opted to support Ruto.
Ruto, he continued, had earned the nickname Kamau in the region because he was regarded as one of them.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri stated they backed DP Ruto because he could bring the country together.
He asked Kenyatta to repay Ruto for his assistance during the recent elections.
