Ruto launch Nairobi Securities Exchange Market
President William Ruto has graced the launch of the Nairobi Securities Exchange Market Place held at the Exchange Building in Nairobi.
Accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Ruto rang a bell to signal the beginning of the day’s market trading.
NSE Chairperson Kiprono Kittony said the NSE Market Place would assist highlight prospects for multinational corporations looking for international expansion, particularly in Africa, to consider listing in these countries.
“The Market Place will provide a platform for Kenya to communicate investment opportunities to the world, positioning the country as a hub for trade and investments, enabling Kenya to attract FDI across various sectors,” Kittony said.
The program aims to give Micro Small and Medium Enterprises and “hustlers” an opportunity to participate in the NSE.
Moses Kuria, Cabinet Secretary nominee for trade, Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja, Equity Group Chief Executive Officer James Mwangi, and Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa were also present at the event.
The NSE is the second most varied exchange in Africa, after only South Africa’s.
