Ruto castigates Uhuru, Raila over BBI, wants apology

The Kenya Kwanza coalition says that it will compel the Auditor- General to audit funds used in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) process.

The Ruto allied coalition wants to use its members in the National Assembly to ensure that the audit done by the auditor establishes whether the taxpayer’s money did not fund the President-led initiative.

The Ruto led team is planning to use Article 201 (d) of the Constitution, which gives direction on the aspects of public finance in the country.

The article states that public money shall be used prudently and responsibly.

The team intimates that the BBI process might have used over 20 billion.

“Section 37 of the Public Audit Act 2015, the Auditor-General, upon request by Parliament, is required to conduct forensic audits to establish fraud, corruption, or other financial improprieties. Our Members at the National Assembly are moving a motion compelling the Auditor-General to undertake a forensic audit on all public funds spent in the illegal process from inception to date.”

The DP yesterday termed the death of the BBI as a breath of fresh air to the Kenyan people, ending political conmanship in the country.

“The end of reggae is the end of political conmanship in Kenya. The ruling validates that BBI was an illegal and an unconstitutional exercise,” said Ruto.

Ruto noted that the BBI ruling is a lesson for criminal and unlawful trends witnessed in Kenya today.
