Retired president Uhuru men exit police service as DIG Mbugua retires

A good number of senior police officers who served at the apex of Kenya’s security apparatus during the tenure of the retired president Uhuru Kenyatta have exited with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kenya Police Service Edward Mbugua being the latest to hang the boots.

Sources at the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) indicated that Mbugua’s retirement has been approved.

He will be succeeded by Abdalla Komesha in an acting capacity to serve alongside Administration Police Service DIG Noor Gabow.

“Yes he has retired.” Our source intimated.

Both DIGs report to the Inspector General (IG) of Police Japhet Koome.

Immediate former IG Hillary Mutyambai exited the service on early retirement on medical grounds while former Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti also controversially exited from office.
